Meditation Monday

On this Meditation Monday, I invite you to pause for a moment of reflection.
In the U.S. it is Memorial Day, a holiday set aside to honor those who have gone before us ... loved ones who are no longer in form on this earth. The subject of today's meditation is the sacred nature of all of our relationships.

So, sit. Take a few deep breaths to quiet yourself—to relax your body and slow your thoughts. Let stillness wash over you. Open your mind, open your heart, and let Love in. May these words wash over you and bring you peace ...
Every relationship has a holy purpose.
Each encounter, each intimate union
provides our soul with an opportunity to grow.
Through our interactions with others,
we are gifted with the chance to transform ourself
into the highest self we can be.
The Universe partners us with those individuals
with whom soul healing may occur.
Discover what it is you are to learn from this person
and they, in return, from you.
As we seek the deeper meaning in our relationships,
we become more cognizant of the plan Spirit has for us.
Now, does your heart have anything to say?

This is a great post for the holiday. I am pausing to remember my grandfathers, both of whom served in the armed services.
Happy Memorial Day. Lovely post and so very wise and true.
Blessings

Jan, I love this post about how each meeting is holy union. As a color gal, I imagine our meetings as the blending of colors, sometimes similar, but always unique, each relationship forms it own fountain of colors.
There is a beautiful book of visionary art I used to have showing how people interact energetically. It is called Sacred Mirrors by Alex Grey. Check it out sometime...it is just amazing and one will never think of being with another person in the same way again. xo diantha
I truly believe that every encounter is for a reason. Some years ago I heard the phrase "a reason, a season or a lifetime" in reference to our relationships and interactions with people. People enter our lives for a reason, may stay in our lives for a season, or be with us for a lifetime. But each one is important in its own way.
I'm so glad you have become a part of my life!
Jan, as I am getting older and growing I now truly see how each relationship is holy in it's connection. Beautiful post my friend.

I am in awe of your new header.
I was finally able to include you in my blog list. In the past it would not come through. Welcome
Cindy,
How nice to hear that you are honoring your grandfathers today. May they be blessed...
Carolynn,
Thanks my dear. Happy holiday to you, too! I hope your day has been restful.
Diantha,
"Each relationship forms its own fountain of colors." I love this thought! Poetic and true. I adore the work of Alex Gray. In fact, this book is on my list of books to purchase, this time for my son who was always mesmerized by Gray's art.
Angela,
You are so dear! Me too, the feeling is mutual.
You make such a wise statement here. In fact, if we could realize that each relationship WILL have its own season we can even move on when that is called for, done with grace and ease. Savor the lessons learned from this relationship and let go. Say thank you for what was and what is yet to be.
Tabitha,
Yes, it does seem true that with time and age we see all of our relationships differently and can appreciate them all the more.
Sema,
I am glad that the meditation resonated with your heart. I, too, am glad we have connected. I love the perspective and insights you share on your blog too!
Ernestine,
Oh, I am glad that all the techno stuff worked out and we are linked. And thanks for the kudos on the banner. I do love it. It makes me smile. And it's always fun to mix things up a bit--as you well know from building and creating garden after garden. :-)
Hugs to all of you. I treasure our unfolding relationships and know that finding one another in this way is a divine gift. Happy holiday!
Jan, please read my comment to your comment on my journal.
Thank you. You can answer me by email if you like.
I spent the day today with people whose relationships I cherish, my family, at home, planting zinnias in a small flower garden, finishing up planting the tomato patch, together setting plants in the soil, watering, and relaxing in the shade afterwards. Hope you had a nice holiday.
Hi Jan! Me again. Thank you for the info about STILLNESS by Richard Maher - I'll be looking for it soon.
Some relationships open my heart, and some close it. I am noticing that with awareness, I can actually open the closed heart by accepting all my feelings with love:)
I have read your meditation again and again, and each time my heart says the same thing ~ amen.
Joanne,
Your day spent in loving relationship sounds so nourishing. You are very blessed with those 2 beautiful daughters of yours. And zinnias! Me too. I do love their colorful presence in my garden.
Angela,
I am glad to hear that you might pick up the Maher book. I am sure you would love it.
Mermaid,
Such a wonderful noticing. Yes! That we do have the ability to physically and emotionally open that heart center with thought and soulful intention and lovingkindness to self. Congratulations!
Sharon,
How nice to hear that this meditation is rolling around in your heart, too. Amen, such a lovely word.
