Meditation Monday
On this Meditation Monday, I invite you to flow like a river.
Observe the movements of a river.
It follows a divine directive to flow out from itself.
At times, gently gurgling over a smooth, pebble-strewn bed.
Other times, roaring, cascading over tumultuous peaks.
Such is the life of a river.
The river does not have the foresight to know where it flows,
only that it is.
The river trusts the Source from whence it comes.
It trusts that it will empty itself into another vast body
which will embrace its droplets, absorbing them into eternal bliss.
We, too, can flow from Source,
ever faithful that our journey will take us to
our ultimate destination—God awareness.*
Today, how are you being like a river?
I'd love to hear ...

Great meditation, Jan.
As for myself, I am letting go and just going with the flow. It is so much more fun and more peaceful too.
Happy Monday to you.
I am a still river today, I am very calm and peaceful from the great weekend I just had. I'm letting all the "stuff" of the river settle out so I can be clear minded. Thanks for the great meditation, I love this image of the river and trusting the Source.
Blessings to you, Jan
Julie
I am with Nadia. I am having to let go of some things and just flow as the minutes pass by.
Thank you Jan for the meditation to think and make my mind calm down, letting go of my anxieties as I go to bed(it is monday midnight over here)

I'm a little bit of a lazy river today, idling a bit at home, about to make sauce and meatballs :)
Have a great week!
Nadia,
I am happy to hear you are going with the flow. Flow is good! Float on...
Julie,
So good to hear that the peace lasted. And it is true, if we just trusted more, we would live with such ease.
Tabitha,
Letting go is so healthy. I am heartened to hear that you are living moment by moment with some ease today.
Sema,
May you be having peaceful rest now and a non-anxious heart and mind.
(You remind me that it might be helpful to post Med. Mon. the night before so my friends in other hemispheres could more fully enjoy in their morning time.)
Joanne,
Aren't lazy river days great! I am planning on having one tomorrow after playing a bit of catch up today after being gone for 3 days. I am looking forward to being a leaf and floating on top of the water and going where it takes me. :-)
Just what I needed to be reminded of today.
Today I found out that I did not get a job at a clinic where I had applied for holistic therapist work.
At the same time as I applied for this job I also registered with my old temp-agency to do secretarial work. I don't want to go back into an office and the Universe is helping me along by not letting me get access to the agency's online assessment centre so I can't do the tests required. :-)
No massage work, no secretarial work. I'm eagerly waiting to see where my River is going to take me. :-)
Today I let go of my tendency to "do" and went with the flow that called me to rest.
When my usual daily routine changed unexpectedly, instead of rushing to get busy with some neglected task, I chose to shut down and take to my bed for an afternoon nap.
Later, I awoke energized. My mind was alert and my body tingled with the feeling of renewal.
Sometimes going with the flow may seem like cupping out but it is the best thing we can do, the best gift we can gift ourselves.
Sometimes I feel like the rock being molded and changed by the flow of the river. Other times I feel like a leaf, riding the river letting it take me to new adventures. Today I am the water, flowing , looking for eternity touching many along the way, being changed and changing those I meet. A glorious path to be on. Not always easy, but always moving, learning, changing, living along the way. Blessings to you and yours. Love and Light, Nina P
Helena,
What a position you find yourself in really—no choice but to let go and surrender what the universe has in store for you. You are being very brave and I'd like to commend you on that. May you keep listening to your heart. :-) "Flow like a river,"as my friend Mary would say...
Cheryl,
I agree and I celebrate that you were able to "flow" today. Good for you! I love days like that--there is such ease and then come gifts of grace. And yet so often we push through. Your story is a lovely reminder of how flow works, how it nourishes and sustains us in unexpected ways....
Nina,
Beautiful! I am heartened to hear that you are in flow today, being the leaf. The words you share about being the rock and being shaped by the river are so potent. I've often been a rock--more times than I would like to count! As I age, I am learning to be more leaf-like, thank God/dess. Flow on!
Oh, I love the imagery of a leaf floating along on the water, going wherever the river takes it. Cool! Today, I've stopped trying to push on walls trying to find a job and just let today be today. I didn't finish the gardening today, but it will be there tomorrow. I am peacefully flowing, fully trusting in the Universe.
Rose,
I will hold you in heart and thought as you float down a lazy river with ease and joy... Be well!
This is a beautiful post, Jan. It puts me in mind of something ~ My husband and I have been observing the flow of rainwater on our property. We are adding gravel in places that will enhance the path, not to change the course but to prevent erosion.
I will revisit this meditation often. In the big picture, I have been fighting the flow of my life for two years. It really is like swimming upstream.
Sharon,
Your metaphor of swimming upstream is very powerful. We certainly don't get very far doing that, do?--and very tired too! I wish you ease. I will imagine you instead floating on your back enjoying the flow on a sunny day. :-)
