Weekend Reflection

Soon the child's clear eye is clouded over by ideas and opinions,
preconceptions and abstractions. Simple free [being]
becomes encrusted with the burdensome armor of the ego.
Not until years later does an instinct come that a vital sense
of mystery has been withdrawn. The sun glints through the pines,
and the heart is pierced in a moment of beauty and strange pain,
like a memory of paradise. After that day ... we become seekers.

That's really something. Thank you, Jan, for sharing it here. As someone who's trying to rescue her inner child, or simply give her a window to my outer world, I really appreciate what this writer said.

Hi Jan,

That is so beautiful. I can relate to it on so many levels. Thank you so much for sharing it with all of us.

Hi Jan .. I'm sure we all blur our lives and make everything that much more difficult -

I love the idea of this - we become seekers, absorbers, livers, peaceful and more able to cope ..

Thanks for the nearly at an end weekend reflection ..

Seeing how the world is through innocent perception which means without judging is leading us back to our heart.
Seeing those leaves without thinking, who is cleaning them up, is what I am practicing.
Lovely reminder with a beautiful photo.

The eyes of a young child are not tainted by the world. They look with wonder and amazement at everything they see. They are open to the universe as a playground to learn and explore. We grow and close our inner child's eyes. We are swept away on the human plane of daily wants and needs. One day we come to a point where we once again want that mystery, that magic we once had.... We want to see with our child's eye.... let go... let the universe in... and be amazed once again. Thank you for reminding us to let go and to once again become seekers. Blessings to you and yours. Love and Light, Nina P

Hi Annie,
Glad you enjoyed! Hope you had a lovely Fall weekend in Taos. :-)

Megan,
I love how you put this--giving my inner child a window to the outer world. May we all peer with eyes of wonder...

Nadia,
Happy to know this touched your heart. :-)

Hilary-
Wonderful images here..."absorbers," "livers." Invites us to a more depth-filled experience of life. Thank you!

Wilma,
So well put. How differet (and amazing!) our world would be if instead of being so jaded and callous, we viewed the world with innocent perception! And, yes, it is all about coming back to the heart, isn't it?

Nina,
Yes, I do think we long for enduring amazement, not just the come and go sort of "wow, this is so cool," but a lasting experience of the magic of original creation—and perception. :-)

Mermaid,
Perhaps you are...and if you are, I wish that you may have the eyes and heart of a child. May love and wonder always be yours. xo

And after seeking for a period of time, we surrender and become lovers to All, with the realization that all points of energy and manifestations eminate from the same place. Therefore, there is no place to go. The entrance is always before us and within us.
